A beautiful old hotel set on Yellowstone Lake. Dinner was very nice and the waitstaff were great. We chose a room with a lakeside view, sadly the roof covered most of it. Our room was a nice size with amazing tile and fixtures. Considering the price I would have expected a cleaner hotel. The lounge area had dead bugs and other dirt under the chairs. Our shower curtain was very molding, it was reported to the front desk who didn’t seem interested in fixing anything until I showed a picture. No apology from the staff at all.
This is a beautiful grad hotel on a wonderful lake. There are snow covered peaks surrounding the lake. There is no WiFi, but I’m typing this in my room and getting 3 bars so make of that what you will. There’s a business center that’s nice too. We asked for a tiny fridge so that’s nice to have. A tiny coffee maker but I brought my favorite instant and the gave us cream. The lobby is a fun place in the evenings. Lovely people working here. Shout out to Syd and Log - two of the excellent people who help you here! Be nice to them and they’ll bend over backwards for you.

A beautiful, historic hotel to stay at while in Yellowstone and a welcome break from the "constants" of the online world. Staff was very welcoming and had plenty of wonderful recommendations for activities in the park. Our room was very spacious and well-kept.
Hotel is convenient with beautiful views of Lake Yellowstone. That is it. You pay an enormous financial premium for convenience. No dining room reservations available until 1000pm. No service available for guest rooms even when requested 3 times. No WiFi service. No refill of coffee service in room. No bar soap in room for the entire trip. No fresh towels unless you take them off of a cart changing out a room for new arriving guests. Our room telephone didn’t work. Existing staff is very limited and very overworked but guests don’t get the service they should for $700+ per night. Staff shortages are a gigantic problem.
I regretfully am giving this three stars. We stayed in one of the cabins with a sub par stay for a high cost of over $400/night. Check in was easy and a map was provided to find our way to the cabins. Found our cabin without the help of any outside lights because there aren’t any. No fridge, no microwave, no wifi. The shower had pink grime along the edges and the beds didn’t even have fitted sheets on them. They used a flat sheet and you sit on it once and the sheets comes un done. Almost every restaurant in the park requires a reservation for dinner so if you want to eat make sure you book ahead. The inside of the hotel is gorgeous and the view is a great stopping point to view but I wouldn’t pay these prices again. Stay outside of the park and drive in. It’s over one hour to old faithful anyway.
I can’t speak highly enough of Yellowstone Lake Hotel. The rooms were very cute and timelessly decorated. The hotel is historic and beautiful. The views over Lake Yellowstone are amazing. They had wonderful live music in the evenings. Elk wandered the property at sunrise and sunset. It’s minutes from Hayden Valley, which makes it a great location to see morning wildlife before the Park gets wild with tourists.
No wifi anywhere, so embrace that and unplug. There are old school phone booths in the hotel tenants can use for free. The ceilings are paper thin, so you can hear the level above you.
The hotel is lovely and the setting spectacular! When the dining room isn't backed up [which happened too often], the food is good. But this hotel is a splurge, yet there was no housekeeping for five days, the promised ethernet connection …
